Burj Jumeira will have a digital facade, a fingerprint design base, and a technologically advanced crown. Dubai is best-known for its architectural marvels that entice tourists from all over the world. Downtown Dubai is especially awe-inspiring with its dazzling skyscrapers, including Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. And soon, there will be another structure added to Dubai’s skyline. On January 31, 2019, Dubai began work on Burj Jumeira, a 550-metre tall skyscraper. This tower is being built opposite Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Sufouh, Downtown Dubai, and will be among the tallest buildings in the world.
Burj Jumeira is the Heart of Dubai’s cultural activities
Burj Jumeira will be the centre of the upcoming Downtown Jumeira district, situated by the Dubai coastline with easy access to beaches. Expected to be an iconic structure in Dubai’s skyline, Burj Jumeira’s design will pay homage to the harmonious ripples of the UAE’s sand dunes and their flowing sanctuaries. The building’s façade will have digital screens, which will be used for numerous events and celebrations, further strengthening the tower’s role as the centre for Dubai’s cultural activities.
Burj Jumeira, Dubai Architecture of the Base
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill are the architects of this skyscraper. The base of Burj Jumeira, Dubai will be designed in the outline of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s fingerprint, and will house several social, cultural and artistic events, shows and activities.
This fingerprint base will also have various entertainment spaces, including a lake, water fountains and a terraced outdoor amphitheatre. It will be designed in such a way that it can host interactive light and firework displays. Adjoining to the base will be a lively shopping mall.
The Crown design of Burj Jumeira, Dubai
At Burj Jumeira’s top will be a flexible event space. It will house a sky lounge and sky restaurant, providing an opportunity to host big scale events. At 450 metres high, the crown will be able to enlarge to accommodate events with varying capacities and needs. Furthermore, the crown’s state-of-the-art technology will enable its walls and ceiling to be transformed into fully immersive and interactive displays.
Fascinating Observation Decks of Burj Jumeira
One of the most exciting aspects of this new tower will be the uninterrupted views of Dubai it will provide. There will be a number of observation decks in the building, offering 360-degree panoramic views of Downtown Dubai.
These observation decks will not merely be traditional viewing platforms, they will offer interactive experiences to visitors. The primary observation deck will be accessible through elevators with modern digital screens. These elevators will provide guests a distinctive experience while they wait to reach the viewing platform.
Additionally, these decks will be used to view fireworks and other events which take place in Dubai throughout the year. There are also plans to include a skydiving deck at the Burj Jumeira, Dubai. The skyscraper is expected to be ready by 2023.
